15 cruelty free items you'll want in your makeup bag

As I mentioned in my previous post 1 Year of Cruelty Free, 2016 was the year where I had to really try new brands and makeup items and  read loads of reviews to build a nice 100% cruelty free makeup stash, through this process I found amazing products that are. So I decided to share with you the products that really blew my mind with quality and colour that I hope will be helpful not only to those that have also opted to use cruelty free cosmetics only as well as all makeup lovers.

15 best cruelty free makeup items

Some of these are cult items beloved by the beauty community, like the Naked Palette and the Better Than Sex Mascara, and they truly deserve all the love they get, some are seriously overlooked and need more attention as they are absolutely incredible and completely won me over, like the e.l.f. Baked Bronzer and the Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer.
One product that changed the game for me was the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner.

This Eyeliner is precise, easy to apply, pigmented, smudge proof and long lasting, from all eyeliners I've ever tried, cruelty free or not (trust me, there were lots of them) this is by far the best.

No wonder there's a hype around this palette, the eye shadows are creamy, pigmented and long lasting, the colours are all very beautiful and easy to wear and all of them works wonderfully with each other, it is great to create warm toned looks.

HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Blush
I love how illuminating this blush looks, it gives a beautiful glow and  lovely flush without looking glittery, I do prefer this as a highlighter rather than a blush. Quality wise it is wonderful, very blendable and applies really smoothly.

NYX COSMETICS Soft Matte Lip Cream
I love love love the NYX lip creams, you'll know that if you've seen the post I wrote about my favourites, they apply smoothly, are insanely pigmented and long lasting and most importantly, don't dry my lips up or feel uncomfortable, which usually is my biggest problem with matte lip products. The colour selection is really varied and beautiful as well.

AĒSOP Avail Lip BalmThere isn't much to say about this, it is highly moisturizing makes my lips feel incredibly soft and unlike other lip balms with sunscreen doesn't really taste weird.

This highlighter is incredible, it gives a gorgeous natural glow and looks great with most skin tones, it is super long lasting, blendable and smooth, I feel like  unlike some powder highlighters this works wonderfully with dry skin

This palette is great for everyday looks, the shades are all neutral and warm toned, all shades are very pigmented and long lasting, even the light ones.

First of all the price of this alone is amazing, $3 for a super high quality product is almost unbelievable, but I have to say, I don't think it is dark enough to be used as a bronzer, but it, like the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush, looks wonderful as a highlighter, it gives a beautiful flow and a gorgeous sunkissed effect.
I've mentioned this in my 8 Cruelty Free dupes to Holy Grail makeup items post, it is an incredible foundation, first of all there's a pretty great range of shades, which is really rare, specially when it comes to dark skin. It gives great coverage without making the skin look cakey or feeling heavy, the only con is that it isn't great for oily skin, if you have oilier skin it can look a little shiny after a while.

This is a great primer for people with large pores or small lines, it evens out the skin giving a really sooth finish and really makes your foundation apply and blend better, it is also great for oily skin as it can be very mattifying.

This is the opposite to the NYX Pore Filler, it works wonderfully for dry skin but won't work nicely with oilier skin types, it gives the skin a warm and healthy dewy glow without looking greasy(again, only if your skin is dry) and makes the skin look very radiant.

Is there anything to say about the Naked palettes that hasn't already been said a billion time? Yes, it is well worth the hype, pigmented, blendable, smooth and easy to apply and the colours are gorgeous, versatile and universally flattering with great colour pay-off, they are all equally amazing, but the Naked3 palette is my favourite, I love it's rosy tones.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
This concealer is the perfect combination between light weigh and full coverage, I have to say concealer tends to really bother me as the ones that really conceal blemishes tends to feel quite uncomfortable on my skin, I like makeup hat makes me feel like I have nothing on, and that's what this concealer does.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
When I decided to switch to cruelty free only makeup my biggest challenge was mascara, it was difficult to find something that gave me both length and volume, didn't clump or smudge and held my lashes curled all day long, it took me ages to find it but this was it.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
This is also a very raved product, it gives a lovely dewy glow, coverage is quite good and the formula is quite buildable, there's a pretty nice range of shades for fair skinned people, it also works for both dry and oily skin.
